I ordered a rivnut drill adapter from Aliexpress directly from China. It appears to be an exact copy of the Dafra version for a fraction of the price.

Attached are some pics of it and a test rivnut I set on a washer. The kit I ordered came with M3, M4, M5 and M6 mandrels. It was under $52 shipped.

Edit: don't know why pics are upside down

I had one that looked just like that, I broke one of the smaller size threaded bits and then I was SOL because I couldn't get a replacement. Shortly after that the internals started grinding like rocks when i was setting larger sizes.

I have the new Astro one on the way because I contacted Astro and they said they can ship me replacement whenever i need them. Plus it's all CNC'd billet aluminum instead of plastic.

Wow, I just looked at Astro's Rivnut adaptor and it looks pretty nice and durable. And if its CNC'd billet aluminum, I think I'm going to order one.
