I've went through some of the posts and have ideas on what I want but some were old. I have the 1442 but someone messed up the threads on the main body borrowing it.
I don't think mandrels interchange among brands (if anyone could chime in I'd be grateful) either.

I figured I might get a smaller hand one this time and was looking for opinions I see harbor freight has one but it could be straight up junk and a Amazon one the same price could be better.
I'm not looking to spend a ton maybe 50 or so.

Post a pic of what you have. My son pooched part of mine, I don’t remember which part, but maybe mine can fix yours.

I haven’t put it through a whole lot of strenuous abuse but I‘ve liked my Harbor Freight Doyle branded tool. It seems pretty well constructed and is easy to use.

I got this one on Amazon for $40 a year or two ago and it's been great for the 2-3 dozen I've installed with it. Much easier than the bolt/washer/nut system.

That looks like the Astro style or whoever they made it after. Just so up know I bought one based on your link. I have the matco handheld version and it’s served me well. Of course you cashed do 3/8” with it though.

I'll have to check when I get home. It's pretty much the main body someone stripped the threads when they borrowed it and I didn't notice until later.

The Astro 1451 is the smaller (10") sliding head version. Comes with #10, 1/4", and 5/16" +M5, M6 and M8 mandrels.

The HF Doyle appears to be a copy of this model and is similarly equipped for $50 vs $66 for the Astro from Amazon. No idea about quality difference.

I've had good luck with this one. I forget which specific brand it is though, can check later today.

My employer had that MEMFEST tool. I was good enough to take the constant daily use' by many tradesmen, in a big repair and maintenance shop.
I enjoy that the mandrels are standard socket head machine screws, which makes for easy repair, if you ****** one up. The price was quite a bit less when I bought mine a decade ago, but I would buy it again in a heart beat if I was still doing as many rivnuts as I was back then.
