Need to install rivnuts in aluminum diamond plate, exterior vehicle use exposed to midwest road salt and de-icing solution. What's the preferred rivnut material to prevent galvanic corrosion between the rivnut and the aluminum plate? Would zinc coated steel work, or should I stick with aluminum rivnuts? Prefer the thread strength of steel if I can get away with it.

If you can get to the back side of that diamond plate, a 2x2 piece of 1/8 aluminum plate would spread the load and go a long way to prevent pull out.

I was thinking that the corrosion might weld the bolt in causing the rivnut to spin at the time of bolt removal if left too long.

Should anti-seize be used in this application to keep the threads usable?

I'd use aluminum plus a couple dabs of loctite on the body. Also I highly suggest a little antiseize on the fasteners.
