Got my RJ45 jack yesterday,,,,placed it on my HD-9 Bendpak lift....
Looks very sturdy....

Question...

-Does the jack come filled with hydraulic fluid ?? I didnt see anywhere about filling it before use,,,,( only on how to replace it,,etc ),,,,, how do you guys check the fluid level ?

-They mention to "loosen" the screw on top of the resovior ? How loose ? i just made it finger, snug

-Does the jack normally "chatter" when going up ? or is is quiet ? mine is a bit noisy,,and chatters,,,,maybe it takes a few uses to "purge" the system ?...

Sorry for the dumb questions...

Doug,

1.) fluid is already installed.
2.) I loosen screw up about half way from snug.
3.) I did not experience any chatter.
4.) You will probably need to full extend jack and lube slide blocks.

Me too. I figured I could answer a question like a pro... oh well.

Likewise.....I was going to mention that if you were trying to crimp CAT 6 cable, make sure you get the RJ45's made for CAT 6....

But I guess that is pretty much a moot issue.....

Thanks Jim,
I am going to try and verify that I have enough fluid,,,,

It's the "chattering" that has me wondering,,,,maybe there is some air in the system ? I just wanted to make sure I wasnt running it dry.
I put a email out to Jeff with BP.

Checked the fluid level.....looks too low,, suspect this could explain the chatter with lifting.....we'll see after I add some fluids

By chatter do you mean the sound the pump makes when it's running? Mine makes putt-putt sounds like a small piston driven air pump.

Lis, I think so, it only occurs when you depress the pedal to raise the jack, I did find the fluid level is a bit low,,,,, maybe that will fix it,,,, thanks for your response

Why would someone ask about a computer jack on a garage forum???:dunno:

The RJ45 jack makes a noise when lifting: brret-brrret-brrrrret.....
But I'd make sure the hydraulic oil is filled to line anyways.
