I was reading that article as I'm about to start figuring out my air setup. I noticed this at the bottom of the document and was curious if you guys agreed with it, as I was thinking copper or something like rapid air.

If I was to do my system over, I would likely use copper due to it being less physical work. It gets pretty tiring threading and tightening pipe. I already had everything in my case on hand except for the pipe sections and some unions. The Rapid Air would likely be the easier route for most people.

In 30 years working with a mix of black & galv systems I've seen a lot of filters and tool inlet screens plugged with rust on black iron systems. Never seen any problems caused by zinc flakes.................

Regards copper its relative weakness could be a problem in a shop with employees or a careless shop owner. The joints blowing apart is likely poor workmanship. If you're concerned about the strength of properly made joints you could use Harris Stay Brite instead of regular plumbing solder. It's HVAC rated so good for over double the pressure of a shop air system.
