Finally got a heavy duty road chest. I've been after one for a year now and I found this one for sale down by Philly so I got him to meet me In Port Jervis NY. 10 Hours of driving but I got it for 280$.

I'm furloghed at the moment but normally I'd be running around NH and VT doing road maintenance on or shoulder mowing fleet of John deere right now, and then fisher plow installs and repairs in the fall and winter.

I'll see about knocking the dent out of the top and then painting it up.

Snap on is sending me the missing emblem and new lid supports for free.

I am always amazed at how bad my franchisee is, and equally amazed at how good snap on corporate customer service is.

I waited 5ish months for drawer slides from my guy, and in that time he got me two sets that were both wrong.

With one email to corporate, I had the full set of correct slide for my kr1001 in about a week.

All depends on the individual. My last guy was great. From the first time I stepped on the truck, he was interested, outgoing and competent. The guy I have now is sullen, uncooperative, and generally not too interested in helping. The first time I went on, he was parked at a barber shop, and was just BS'ing with the barber in his truck. I wanted a flex 1/4" long handle ratchet, he didn't have one, and had no clue when he might be inclined to order one so I could buy it. I've had him order me stuff several times, and occasionally buy things he has on the truck, so I'm not a warranty deadbeat.

But, he still is disinterested and acts like he's doing me a favor to let me on the truck. So, I generally buy online now, and like you said, they're great. Been able to find me parts several times that the website couldn't find. Their new $20 shipping fee might change that a bit. Probably just decrease what I buy, I'll look for it on ebay instead.

He's a bubbly and enthusiastic dude, and talks a good game, he just doesn't deliver.

First box I've seen with the whiskey drawer at the bottom.

Coach

The early road chest had a normal layout with the small drawers on top. Later they were moved to the bottom. I wonder if snap on saw a problem with the drawer frame letting go hanging down. On mine the whiskey drawer is fully boxed in by the drawer slide support.
