Hyway 23 aka “The Pig Trail”….. or old hyway 71 thru the Boston Mountains is a beautiful drive. I’ve driven it many times. Continue on hyway 23 thru Huntsville to Eureka Springs and then Roaring River state park. It’s a beautiful drive.
Either way, it will be a blast!!

I've done plenty of miles in NW Arkansas and southern Mo with various MINI/Mini clubs, lots of great roads all around there. If you go on a weekday there's virtually no traffic either...is this a car club or just for classic cars of all stripes?

Family is from Roger's, Bentonville, and Fayetteville 1930's - 1970's. I had the privilege of driving Highway 71 when that was the main route there, first with family, then my own VW bus and later a CJ7. I remember driving with my grand dad in his 1949 Dodge, and later his 1959 Chrysler New Yorker (kept in showroom condition. My uncle was the Dodge dealer there at the time.) There used to be a sticker, "I drive Highway 71, pray for me," because of all the head-on accidents. The road was concrete and when someone dropped a tire off it they sometimes over corrected trying to get back on the old highway, and came across the lane. Beautiful country. I lived in Rogers for a while with grandparents before Daisy built their air rifle plant there. Anyway - enjoy the ride - that is a beautiful part of the country, especially in fall during the color change. Spring is fun too but if you don't like the weather move on quickly.

What town was your uncle’s Dodge dealer in?

I’m not trying to highjack this post.
I just had a couple of questions for FredWanaker. I worked at the Chrysler Plymouth Dodge dealer (HoustonTaylor Motors) in Fayetteville from 1979-2000.
Small world.
I don't what became of the dealership. I know that by 1978 he was retired and out of the business. It was a Chrysler Plymouth Dodge dealership. My dad had one of our California cars carbs tuned there about 1968 or so. The 1967 California Chrysler we owned had a terrible flat spot off idle with the California emissions and retarded timing. They tried to find a way to tune it out but couldn't without defeating the California emissions. You'd step on it too fast and it would pop. My uncle was on Soc Sec and savings in 1978 when my ex and I visited them, and he was working pt in a Men's Clothing store rather than be trapped in the house all day. He loved people and needed the interaction with them. So somewhere between 1968 and 1978 he either sold it or closed it. I know that he had a partner but I know very little of the business side. There are still children of his alive so I can't say much more.

Road rallies are awesome, low-pressure "competitions" where the people are usually laid back, and the cars are usually more diverse than anywhere else.

*If indeed this is a sanctioned road rally event.

Phillips Motor Company. I'd guess 1936 to about 1973 or 74 based on what one of the family members said
