Hi all this is my first post, I have been working on make a road tool chest. Made the main the frame just finished the frame woRk for the door.

Well I have have the sides and the lid all made just got to weld them on, then to do the inside.

The Montezuma site has all the dimensions and what goes where. You could take a look for ideas and scale it to your box. I like that style a lot. Simple to build compared to messing with drawers and sliders.

What tubing and sheet did you use?

The box section 3/4 x 2mm think and the sheet work is 2mm.

I had a some time to spare so start work on the inside.

Got the socket tray on a hing not sure how these holders will hold up but time will tell

i saw a commerical road chest that could hold my whole tool boxes, i thought about getting one for the shop and get rid of the boxes

Found some time to do a bit more work on the inside, got the ratchet, extension, and screwdriver hold all done, got two mounting for my air tools done just need to do two more.

Souter, What are the dimensions of the road box? I may have to build something similar to fit the bed of my 52 pickup.

Hi Malcolm

The box is 36" long 21" deep and 22" high, the only reason I made is this size was I used old bits of steel we had in the shop. So that determined the size I could make it.
