Hello new member. I have an old commercial meat grinder that has a Robbins & Myers 1/3 hp 110v motor. It has ran in the past. But it set for quite awhile and it was stuck I took it apart and starter system kinda fell apart on me wasn’t expecting that. It has a bunch of odd shaped copper pieces that are part of the start system I can’t find one of them. Don’t even know what they are called. So what is it and where my I might find one.

I think you have to make it. Just cut it out, sand, die-grind, file to shape as best you can. I've bought small pieces of sheet copper on ebay before, like as small as would fit in an envelope 3x3x(thickness)

Yup, you are on your own for making parts. Robins and Meyers hasn't existed for a long time, and they were more known for their fans, not their general purpose motors.

Sounds like you are looking for what is called a "start switch "or a "centrifugal switch".

I just went through this with a Sta-rite water well motor.the motor would not start and just trip out on overload. Pulled the cover and found a handful of broken bits.
I found these are used on a lot of swimming pool pump motors $40-60 .
I found the same part at Zoro $23.
I have yet to install it,it arrived yesterday afternoon.

Great white north in an igloo
I just recently had to make a shading coil for a contactor.
The old one was cracked, causing it to vibrate.
Its easy to do.
Drill, files, needle files, hacksaw blade, and jigsaw blade, cold chisels (to cut the copper in the vise jaw)
I used a fuse terminal cause thats what i had on hand, that had enough thickness. After it was done i annealed it to hopefully last longer from the vibration. Had to be made ASAP. So machine could go back into service. Worked perfect.
Temporary permenany fix
