FWIW, I live in a manufactured home in New York State. After the first year, I decided we had to have a/c. I bought a Miller 3.5 ton package unit, for central a/c only. We have natural gas for heat. I clean it every year or 3, and have had no problems with it, after the first day of operation, when the compressor failed. Since then, zero issues. Some of the farm shop buildings around here use them also.
As to durability, well mine was installed in 1988. As I said, never a service call since. No replacement parts. Nothing.

if you insist on spending $4800 on an AC, at least get one worth the money.

i mean you're right. you should be getting a mitsubishi PUZ-HA42NKA1 paired with a PVA-A42AA7.
