everything that i don't need today gets ordered from rock auto. if you figure in the cost of gas to drive to the parts stores and time on saterday that i lose, there is no comparison. plus their parts seem to actually work. as opposed to autozone and advanced. who's parts last a month and then fail.

I have used them before as well, never a problem. In fact, I'm waiting for the delivery of a set of air shocks for my daughters Jimmy. Her truck has some pretty tired leaf springs so I went looking for some booster shocks (coil over type) Well, while I was lookinf at Rock Auto, they had a close out on some Monroe air adjustable shocks that fit her truck... 31 BUCKS a pair!!! Woo Hoo. I should have that saggy-assed Jimmy back in the air in no time.

I love em, but think twice about core charges on heavy items, if I didn’t have access to low cost shipping I wouldn’t have bothered returning a caliper.

Got the air shocks today via Fedex. Monroe, as advertised and made in USA to boot. Got to get out to the truck in the daylight to see if they're the right ones.

I use RA all the time, always positive transactions, great prices, quick shipping. On-line parts reference is good, excellent customer service/return policy. Downside = every order to date has been shipped from two different ship points so s/h charges are high! Overall highly recommend! Thanks to Isaac for the discount code!

Using Your Discount Code

Enter the code above in the "How did you hear about us" line of the shopping cart. If you are using our traditional HTML catalog, please click the "Apply" button to the right of the field. Your discount will automatically appear, subtracted from your order total.

Please note: We sometimes get calls from people who put the word "discount" in front of their code and do not get the discount. Please enter ONLY the discount code, no other words or numbers.
The discount takes 5% off our already-low prices. There's no limit on order size or the number of orders. Use the code for your next order, and share the code with friends, neighbors, relatives, the guy at the corner garage--anyone you know who works on cars or trucks.

This discount code expires on December 26, 2010; so don't wait!

Beware of non-stock items. I ordered a pulley that said it would take 2 days to get. Once I ordered it, it jumped to 10 days. When the 10 days finally arrived I called Rockauto and they said they couldn't get the pulley and canceled my order. I've probably made 20 orders with Rockauto and always been happy, but this really pissed me off. So just be careful with non-stock parts.

Lots of good feedback. I 've used RA a few times since the 1st post. I like. shipping can be a killer. My 1st order was about $1500. in parts and shipped from 8 locations.
I order a complete exhuast system, 6 parts no boxes and 5 stickers on each part for a grand total of 30 stickers! After an hour with a razor blade I gave up. The car got the new car burning smell.

Ive used Rock Auto for a long time. And they finally messed up. I ordered shocks and they sent me one that was defective out of the box... which is fine, it happens. they were real good about getting me a shipping label, and they shipped out a replacement right away. But the replacement was a used shock.... So I sent it back again and on the 3rd time I had my shock...

I will still use them. They did handle it well, it was just very inconvenient.

I've bought a ton of stuff there....always more than happy with price, shipping cost and speed...even returns are easy as pie...

I'd continue to use them even if something got messed up in my future orders...everyone makes mistakes and to this point they have been "spot on"!!

I think Rock Auto's customer service and return policy are excellent. I recently ordered a clutch from them and several other clutch components separately. The clutch turned out to be the wrong clutch in the right box. They couldn't get the right clutch. I informed them I'd have to send the whole order back because for some reason local auto parts stores only sell complete clutch kits. And I didn't think I should have to pay any shipping and should get a 100% refund. No problem. They made a mistake and they owned it. So I will continue using them.

ditto.
Hahaha, just ordered a whole new exhaust myself-- I didn't even thing about removing the stickers!
A razor blade and a proper grease-cutting solvent, maybe a scotchbrite pad, should get them off in a jiffy.

Shipping is a *****: same story, a $400 order from several locations. Even when it's the same location, the shipping can jump unexpectedly.
But in the end it evens out no matter what. $8 +$8 shipping, or $16 w/ free 2day shipping off amazon, or $18 retail at Salvo auto parts? What's the difference, really.

Got my mufflers on close out for $20/apiece, instead of $50! sweet :)

I will say that they are FAST to ship. Guaranteed 2day shipping off amazon, versus off of rockauto with no such explicit guarantee: frequently a large order from both vendors made late one Monday night, will all come on Thursday, amazon and rockauto.

And their selection and parts organization is great.
No one else but rockauto had my door lock actuators, for example. No one.
Of course, roackauto wants $160/apiece... so I'll be kludging together a cheaper not-quite-right actuator, but it's still impressive that they had it at all.

Just ordered a few hundred dollars worth of ACDelco stuff for my personal rig, for basically the price that el cheapo stuff would have cost me at the local parts store. Very well set up website. If all goes well, Id say theyll have a steady customer.

Also, very good prices on bulk filters. Ive always wanted to keep a stock of needed filters in my garage, but they can get pricey at the stores.

Rock auto rocks!!!

Just used them this week for the first time. Struts, springs, and hub bearings on a Buick. Ordered them Monday night..arrived Wednesday morning..just installed them tonite and I saved almost 3 hundred bucks over the local parts stores (2) that I usually deal with.

If the car doesn't need to get done right away I'm going to use Rock more often.

Also .... thanks for the current code.

This must be the only group of people online that have had good luck with RA. I have never gotten a correct order to date, and have had nothing but problems with customer service. Bought 2 calipers for my Nissan, and they sent 2 different part numbers. Neither fit. Returns are a joke, as are the phone screeners. Keep your $4 savings, I'm going to NAPA where I know the parts can be returned easily.

F rock auto.

I love Rock Auto. However I have also found that Amazon (yes, Amazon) often has parts priced quite competitively with them. The downside is that, to search Amazon you need to have a part number, whereas RockAuto has a very smart search engine that allows you to drill down (Vehicle>>System>>Part).
