So I found this vise in a local auction... pretty good shape w/a fair bit of paint overspray and a little tight moving but not frozen...I want to clean it up and bolt it on the bench but if I do I'll never take it off to strip it and paint it as it should/could be. My gut says I've got scars and this old vise has scars so why try to hide them but at the same time I love making old things look new so what do I do? Also,what color would this vise have been when new? My wife says I have a vise vice-I tell her it could be a lot worse.
