sorry I just saw your question and not sure i can give you a good answer cause that vise stopped being made in the late 50's.
you can certainly make some or have some made by a good machinist or do what I do if you need a bit more grip just buy or make some copper jaw covers like I use on my big Reed 4c
also if you'd like to post up a few pictures over on the bigger Vise Repair 101 thread you might get other suggestions. I rarely replace the jaws on my old vises unless they are broken or if there might be a repair needed behind the jaw so maybe yours are not that bad. here's a pic of the Wilton 6 inch jaw copper jaw covers I use and you can make some out of copper pipe if you don't want to buy ready made ones.
we have more than a few old vise lovers here that are happy to help if you ask politely and they see your post. new threads by new members sometimes get missed so hopefully this helps. good luck

Des: did you do all the work making and fitting these new jaws in your big old rock island. Post a few more details if you have time cause not many have machining skills or a good machinist that will do this kind of work
I am not a machinist, but I really enjoy bringing vintage tools back to life. This is a very well built vise. I do look for bench vises in bad shape. I take my time and restore them
