Cruisin around Columbus Ohio today fighting traffic I had this dude trim my doors. Caught him on 270 then again cruising up 71. Not sure where he's headed.

I saw a Rock n Roll truck down here in middle TN a couple of weeks ago. Didn't realize what it was until I was reading on here. I figured some SO dealer just had a real fancy truck. :)

It's a truck that just displays toolboxes. The local guys call him in a few times a year to show off and sell new boxes there is a few of those trucks in each zone and they go with a local dealer on his route

Funny you post, I just saw one on Florida Blvd @ Airline in Baton Rouge a week or so ago. It has a super nice cab on it.

Been on it. I had just bought a brand new tripple bay a few weeks before. And they were trying to get me to buy a epiq. I was like um f that. The epiq was a ton of money.

One came by last year. The sales rep that was driving (well, and the one riding along... not my guy but serves a neighbor) was kinda a *****, and the deals he was offering were... not really deals at all. Dude came off like a high-pressure used car salesman to me, which is definitely NOT the effective tactic to use on me.

I see them all the time at car shows. Interesting concept, wish they gave out more freebies and had better merchandise. Sorry SO, but I get better coffee cups free at trade shows than you fellas charge $15 for.

Bumping because the Truck is back on the road again. I saw it outside a Menards in Glendale Heights, IL this morning. I tried to find the driver in the store but no avail, he was gone when I came out of the store.

Maybe he was buying some Masterforce Tools? Replenishing stock of Chinese made Snap-On pocket knives? lol

When I asked about getting a bigger EPIC box last year to my currently MIA driver he said the rock and roll express would give me a better deal apparently my driver didn't want to even try to sell me a box don't know. But still haven't seen the rock and roll truck actually come by my shop

He can...but in my experience its not so much on the $$ side, where the Rock-N-Roll wins is on custom configs...if you want a KRL1023 with ALL 2" drawers, in Plum Crazy Purple, Hugger Orange trim with retro SO Logos, he can make that happen and be a few bucks less then MSRP on the box...

Exactly

So you're saying avoid this truck like the plague?

Not really...worth going to see it to see what's available...and if you got a custom combo you'd like...you can REALLY see whats available. I really went last fall to see whats available for custom options on a KRSC100....I've not seen any custom KRSC's but what I wanted IS available...100.00 less then MSRP, my guy had that beat BAD if I go with a standard version...

My driver is bringing them to me the beginning of June. I am optimistic, but we will see. The driver told me they will offer more for the trade and give huge discounts. I currently have a 1023 and wanted to change my drawers, it was going to cost about $2K to do that, so I figure if they make a great deal, I might bite. I do not want to finance the thing, but it appears in order to get the best deal you need to. I have been self employed in various states of disarray for the last couple of years and I don't know if my credit is up to the task. Any words of wisdom?

Snapon credit offers 90 days same as cash for all contracts, and 180 days same as cash for shopowners. You need to go on credit for the rebates, which is the best deal. If you have the cash, just pay it off within the time limit and it's interest free. Depending on your state it's a max of 50 bucks UCC filing fee. The 300- $3000 rebate sure is worth the 50 dollar fee!

The "platinum" level of your dealer affects how much credit you get approved for as well. If you have a great franchisee, you get approved for more. If he *****, you might get very little, or denied.

I was on one of these trucks last week. He came into town and my dealer was riding with him. I talked to the driver and he said Snap On has 50 of these trucks running here in the USA. Yes, fifty! :eyecrazy:

The interest rate is based solely on your credit rating. If you're good there then we as dealers can request 9.9% for you.

I ordered my second Epiq a few weeks ago from the R&R truck. We have a great dealer and both of the R&R truck salesman were good guys.

The first Epiq I purchased they were offering 38% off and an extremely fair trade in for my Matco ProFormance. The second Epiq was 30% off but they gave me in trade what I paid for the first Epiq, 2 years ago.

Again, if you want to customize your drawers, this is the easiest way to do it.

Both purchases were low pressure but it is frustrating trying to talk numbers when the truck is full of tire kickers.

It was similar to buying a car, I told them a price that I was comfortable paying and we negotiated until we were all satisfied.

Cash talks. I payed several hundreds less compared to some buddies that used the credit. Snap-On offered them 6 months zero interest but their end price was higher than mine.

--Tip--
If you are serious about purchasing a box and can wait until the truck shows up. Be ready with EXACTLY what you want. Oftentimes the deal is only good for a day or two. Know the box model, color, trim, top, cover options...everything right down to what drawers you want where.

I want to pay cash, but it seemed that they offered extra deals to finance. Glad to hear someone say cash talks. As bad as it sounds, I would be happy with my same box just different drawers. I would like a different color. Luckily there will be no tire kickers, I am the only one there. I have not really seen the epiq boxes in person, so this will probably be my first experience. I was told I would not have to pay for the box that day since it will be 6 weeks or more for custom layout. I am impatiently waiting, but if I have to wait for another year, then so be it.

I financed mine so I can't say for sure, but I would imagine with cash they'd want at least something up front. At least with me they have a piece of paper saying I'm on the hook for it, but no, I'm not paying anything until it comes in.

My experience was a little used car sale like, but thats because I was at a snapon show and they had 5-6 people trying to talk me into it. They left me alone once I told them to.

It is nice seeing actual samples of all the colors and trims they offer and getting to take them outside and look at them though.

Keep beating them down on the price, they'll give more than you think they will. They tried the 'this offer is only good for today, tool show special!!!!' deal on me too, but I pulled the trigger a week later and still got the deal. I posted what my deal was in the show your toolbox thread if you want to look for it.

Ask the driver if he has any pictures from the toolbox factory, mine showed me some pretty cool **** they use there.

My local driver told me once we get a quote, the deal can be extended a bit. I just bought my box used last year, I don't want to spend what I paid on it only to get new drawer configuration and a new box. I will have to see what transpires as far as the deals go. I will start looking at list prices just so I get a feel for how expensive a new box could be.
