I'm sure everyone has seen a rocket stove. This one is a bit different, my dad and I have been throwing around ideas and decided to make a large rocket stove with an oven and a griddle on top.

First we started with a 20" round pipe and cut a hole for the oven.

Then we made a protrusion so the oven can hold larger pots and pans

The "rocket" part of the stove. This is where the wood is fed into the fire pit, and due to its angle it is self feeding

The fire chamber

The oven framed in over the fire chamber

The chimney space behind the oven to allow the smoke to rise and heat up the griddle on top

Now in order to maximize the heat potential of the smoke, I wanted it to circle around the top of the stove to evenly heat the griddle.

So there is a bottom lip

And a larger ring that will make a smoke chamber around the bottom of the griddle

The "griddle" is a 27" 1" thick sprocket, I will clean it and season it and it will be used as a cook top

Flipped it over to weld it all together

The smoke chamber is all Welded up

Right side up and with an oven door and a door on bottom for access to the fire chamber

First fire test with a 4" round chimney

The first design with the 4" chimney did not work that great, there wasn't sufficient air flow out of the chimney and smoke would come out of the feed chute, not where it should be.

So we redesigned it with a 4"x12" chimney

The redesigned chimney now ***** the smoke out and creates a vortex effect in the fire chamber.

Now what's left is to make a lid for the feed chute and the chimney so I can control the heat, make some sort of fire cut design for the oven door and maybe clean and paint it.

That's not a rocket stove, it's a rocket furnace! LOL...

Nice job! Only change I would have made would be an ash-pit / raised grate for the fire.
