Looks pretty nice and compact, and at $250 plus tax (Loonie dollars), it's significantly cheaper than a comparable DeWalt or Milwaukee Fuel. Who makes them? Max torque is 192 ft-lbs (on Amazon its listed as 217 ft-lbs....).

Yeah, I know their parent brand is Positec, but how does one just create a completely new product? I guess I'm cynical as hell, but I don't believe Rockwell (Positec) is the OEM of these tools.

Does anyone have one of these? I was considering the milwaukee 2755b but I can across this for a much lower price with similar power specs. I'd basically be using it to replace my 3/8 impact at work, so I don't have to drag an air hose around all the time. I'd keep my IR 2135 for the bigger jobs

The Rockwell name hasnt graced anything of quality in the last 2-3 decades. I would avoid, there are other economical names with a proven track record worth looking into first.

If price is a deciding factor, look at some reconditioned tools first.

Down the line battery replacement and warranty with Rockwell could be a real PIA.

Price isn't the whole deciding factor, I don't need this thing today so either way I can can save/budget for it like the rest of my tool purchases. That being said, I've never seen recon M18 impacts anywhere, though I admit I haven't looked too hard beyond cheking CPO occasionally.

I'm looking at this for the same reason I use my Craftsman USA sockets even though we have a Snap On truck stop by every week. They both turn the same bolts just fine, so I don't see the point in spending more money to do the same job. That's why I was asking for real world epxerience. If the Rockwell holds up well to daily use then great, and if not, I'm willing to spend the extra money to get the Milwaukee.

Burgerkong, thanks for posting that. For some reason it didn't cross my mind to check YouTube for reviews. I'm actually surprised by some of the bolts that it was able to loosen.

Hey, if they trust it to bust piping nuts while hanging off the side of an oil platform in the middle of a full-on storm they must be great.

I'd be having a chat with the health and safety guys on that rig though.

All kidding aside, they will probably work just fine. The battery reminds me of Stanley/B&D/Fat Max though. Speaking of which, I don't know if you have a RONA nearby, but they are blowing out the FatMax cordless stuff pretty cheap.
