Recently picked this up wish I took a better picture before I cleaned it up but you can see the base and the pipe and the parts on the floor. Still have a few of the miscellaneous parts that I need to clean up and paint. I'm missing a chuck key and not sure what size I need, I picked up a 4 way universal at the flea market and none of them work. Using drill bits a 17/64 is a little loose and a 9/32 don't fit so I'm thinking a 7mm? Does that even exist? If I can't find one anyone know how to take the chuck out and a good replacement?

Read the manufacturer and part number off of the drill chuck (probably Jacobs or Supreme). Search the web or post that here. It is probably a Supreme chuck,. If that is the case, the chuck key is probably a supreme 60 with a pilot diameter of 0.275" (about 7mm).

Look for the chuck number and there will be a cross reference to tell you what key works for that. Look on the net or call a place that sells chucks like an industrial supply

With patience you can find a Jacobs 633C or 34-33C chuck new for a decent price, and is a bit heavier duty than the one on there now.

It's says Jacobs MultiCraft at the bottom of the chuck its hard to read exactly what it says but I see 5/16-1/2 = DC 33 N something 33. According to Jacobs the 33 series chuck key is 1/4" when I try a 1/4 drill bit it is very loose. Could this just be from wear?

I had a Multicraft on my 15-017 and trashed it trying to remove it. Guess I should have kept the chuck!

Yeah I saw that link and was searching for that .275 size Outlaw had mentioned but not finding it. How did you go about removing the chuck on yours incase I decide to replace it? Also I just finished up the wiring and started it up on full speed and there is some whining noise coming from it maybe the bearings in the quill? Any ideas if there is a way to grease or are they cheap/easy enough to replace?

I have that same Chuck on my old delta I'll check and see what size key mine is.
