rockwell drill press

Hi every one Im new here.I just a bought rockwell drill press and was wondering if the quality is good.The model # is 70 6x 10.Its in pieces right now but I will try and put it up soon.Its old but seems to be in descent condition.This is my first drill press so I dont know much about them.The gebtlemen that sold it to me will come and help me set it up.It sure is heavy.

Look forward to seeing it go together......you've got quite a few photos of older boat motors in your photobucket. You collect or build them?

I think most of those older DP's are good. Depends on what you use it for and how much and for what it was used before.

Having an elevating crank on the work table is nice.

Yes I collect them as a hobby.I have about 15 good runners and they are fun to run.I will use the drill press once in a while to drill out broken bolts etc.

I've got a 1950's era Rockwell-Delta 17" Floor Drill Press (I think it's a 17-600). Yes, they are damn heavy. Took 3 of us to get it into the van and 4 of us to get it out. Mine has been in mid-renovation for over a year now. I've got the DP disease - I own 7 DP's so far and 6 are in working condition

Thanks for the welcome! We been dealing with the hurricane but we fared well.If any of you guys can get a cloesup shot of your roclwell I would appreciate it.I might try and put it togrther soon.
