I picked up an older Rockwell drill press id tag is missing but going by an image search it appears to be a 15-017, the family I got it from had a couple of tins with Morse taper bits and the press had a locking collar adapter attached to the spindle I’d like to change it to a keyed chuck can I just get a tapered chuck without the collar I vaguely remember in jr. high a similar one and it had a tapered male shaft on the spindle and it seemed to hold well. Anyway a few suggestions would be appreciated as to if it would work without the collar and a for sure on the female taper size I’ve looked on most of the stuff and all I find on the parts number wise are the adapters between the different Morse sizes and a bunch of bits. Thanks Eric

Looks like a 15-665 from here, 6X6, 6" quill travel and 6 speeds. The spindle has a Jacobs 33 taper. I probably have a chuck I could sell if interested as well as one of these drill presses I'm thinking of parting out if you need any other parts. The one I have has a couple missing/broken parts, and I'm not having much luck finding reasonably priced replacements.

Thanks for the info. I'd be interested in the chuck if you would message me with details, thanks as well for the model number info the drill it runs nice and smooth but without a keyed chuck it doesn't really fit my needs. Eric
