Rockwell Versacut?

Checked this mini circ saw out today. Looks pretty bad azz.

Anyone have one? Opinions?

Well it seems to be more powerful than the Craftsman one. 2.8 Amp, 2800 RPM motor for the Craftsman versus 4 Amp, 3500 RPM motor for the Rockwell. Craftsman price shows $110 with a discount to $99. The Rockwell clocks in at $120, but you get the added metal and tile blades.

Plus it looks cooler. Craftsman power tools have always had a "klunky" feel to me. Like having to hold too much material for what other comparable power tools can package their products.

The versacut does look appealing, but I'm looking forward to Rockwell's Trans4mer .

reviving this thread instead of starting a new one...

I just got the versacut earlier this week. this this freaking rocks. i love the feel of it. the grip/handle is very comfortable and ergonomic. it has good power, im using it to cut 1" thick aluminum plate. works perfect. only thing that is slightly annoying is holding the safety and the trigger gets a little tiring (but im cutting for 30-60 min straight)

DEFINITELY worth buying so far. very handy and im glad i bought it.. well worth the $130

I can't help but wonder how the Rockwell Versacut compares to the Harbor Freight Double Cut Saw

I mean, for all intents and purposes, they seem capable of the same tasks .... with the HF Double Cut Saw being about $40-$50 less than the Versacut.


Just sayin' and thinkin' ... that's all.

The Versacut is exactly that a versatile saw, I have one and love it as compared to a dual saw, its apples and oranges. I have the Ridgid dual saw and it too is agreat tool but with not having a foot you lose the capability of depth control, and doing tile. AlLong with long straight cuts are much harder on a dual saw. Both require dedicated blades so no difference in regards to perishables. If I had to choose one I'd go with the Versacut.

Have seen these advertized but didn't find them very appealing. Watched the tools in action video and still don't. May be just the thing for a weekend DIY person who doesn't already have tools, but as a remodeler it doesn't fit my needs. The only place I could think that it would be useful is in a tight spot, where there isn't room for a larger tool.
