First order of business is getting all my fishing rods out of harms way. All my saltwater stuff is in the tubes now as a I’m few hours away from the beach IMG_7191.jpegand Virginia surf fishing isn’t really a thing (compared to NC, anyway).

I have a few really nice trout and pan fish rods (G Loomis GLX) I want to keep out of harms way. Was thinking of the roof joists angling up to ridge? Screw in some rubber rod holders, etc. What do you think? Any recommendations on quality rod holders? The Amazon pic is just for reference.

Actually thinking about doing the same thing with my bigger ladders I rarely use. I don’t have a garage, so space is high rent 😂

I was in an old rental in my younger days and had a similar situation. Used 8"-10" cut pieces of PVC for the butts (with a notch ground in for the handles of spinning gear) screwed in, and just a hook also screwed in as close to half the length as possible. With the butts slid back to the handle, and the hooks being at an angle, ain't going anywhere. Also hung a 12' jon boat on the wall with big ladder type hooks :D
Now just have the standard foam type vertically on the wall.

I am using a spring loaded clamp to hold my welding rod when I am laying a bead to join metal pieces together.
