I have a Roku 3 in the living room and a chromecast in the bedroom. Nice thing about both is you can screen mirror from any windows 10 laptop. So I can pull up a movie or youtube, whatever, on my laptop and watch it in full resolution wirelessly on my TV.

Amazon Fire TV stick and Kodi. Wifi.

I have the Amazon Fire TV (box not the stick) and Kodi - Ethernet. Love it and look forward to when I can drop cable all together. Trying to convince the misses is the hard part. We still have a hard line phone and answering machine that no one answers since it seems to be the telemarketers hotline.

this is incorrect, there are services like the one I just gave a long review about, that do indeed have a guide and the ability to channel surf live TV, and it's why I chose it.

I could stand corrected. I am not familiar with PS Vue. Is there any buffering when changing channels? I realize that can be somewhat dependent on your device/ internal network/ ISP.

I dropped cable nearly a year ago and don't really miss TV that much. Except for sports (NFL & racing mostly). For NFL we have a pretty decent sports(ish) bar nearby.

Sling is what we are going to go with, but unless they have changed recently you can't do 2 TVs on one account.

Get an antenna. Check TV Fool to get an idea what antenna you will need and where to point it. NFL and NASCAR come on the main channels. You will get MNF on espn with sling so you are covered. Thursday night games bounced between CBS and NBC while being simulcast on the NFL Network. Similar deal may happen next season. FOX and NBC carry the NASCAR broadcast rights until 2024.
