Good morning, Im looking for an air compressor to run out of my truck for mobile wrenching, 1/2 gun, some 3/4 impact. Found a Rolair 9hp, twin 9gallon tanks that puts out 16.2cfm at 90psi. 100% duty cycle. Should be able to keep up eh? Anyone have experience with Rolair? Thanks

For impacts, a bigger tank is better, but with that kind of CFM you should be good. A 5 hp with a 30 gallon tank would probably work, unless you routinely do a large number of fasteners in a row.

What is the max pressure ? I would want at least 125 psi.

Make sure you are using a large enough hose for that 3/4" gun !

I have a rolair and it's been great. Mine is a 220 3HP 30 gallon two stage. It won't run a die grinder or sand blaster non stop for long periods but it will run them no problem for a few minutes. Impacts it runs just fine. Mine was made in the USA but that was about 10 years ago. But I believe they are still made in the US.

I don't do any air die grinding or sand blasting, just simple wrenching. impacts 90% of the time. most of the 1/2inch impact use I do done with a Milwaukee anyway. Blowing out rads, air filters, pressuring fuel systems. Only the odd undercarriage would I need a good air compressor. Even then, If Im going to do a pad swap on a hoe or cat I can always rent a tow behind one of those big diesel 185 cfm compressors for 125 a day.

It should be fine for you. With only 18 gallon tank you might have to let it catch up if you are using it alot but should handle most of your needs.
