Rolgear Type Screwdrivers

I'm curious as to what opinions are on this type of mechanism (not necessarily rolgear products specifically).
How does it hold up, how hard is it to get used to etc?

I'm looking around for reasonable but economical ratchet screwdriver - I love my PB swiss, but I would cry too much if I dropped it behind a wall.
It seems Hazet and Gedore both do affordable ratchet screwdrivers using the rolgear mechanism made by Oplast under licence.

Snap-on, Williams etc are all far too expensive here, and the Wera seems to have a lot of excess slop.
Bahco etc are all clones of each other and seem to be a step down from the wera - hence how I've ended up looking at these rolgear type screwdrivers, but I've never owned one.

I have a bunch of Rolgears and use them alongside with my SO ratcheting screwdrivers working on vehicles. So far it's been 8 years since I had them and they're still working like new, no issues.

Rolgear is very good. When I use a "ratcheting" screwdriver the most important thing is low backdrag. It's not helping if I have to hold the bit with my second hand to keep from unscrewing the fastener I'm trying to tighten. Rolgear is great at that.

They are on the higher side, and still appeared to have quite a bit of end play - do you have one? If so I'd be interested to in a review - especially on end play and rotational play in the locked position. I'm not set on any particular brand if there is something that is recommended and ticks the box.


@JradM I've seen that video and another one with a similar comparison - and a couple of odd ones on the rolgear.
It doesn't seem like there is any stand-out ratchet screwdriver in the low/mid price range.
