Has anybody made a roll cart stereo speaker system? I've been looking at this amp http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0049P6OTI/?tag=atomicindus08-20 but I'd like an fm radio receiver that has an aux output to plug into the amp, and I'm thinking about putting some small home theater bookshelf style speakers in the bottom of the cart. Post pictures of what you've done. I'm trying to get ideas.

use that amp with a 1/8" male to rca plug adapter, then you can plug in an MP3 player with built in fm radio

Why not mount small, full range car speakers into the front of your cart (on the front panel of the top section)? It would diminish resale value...but as long as you are going to keep your cart, it would give more of a custom look.

This is a video I did of my harbor freight cart that I added a radio to. I used a computer power supply to run the car stereo and just put the car speakers in the box, but I did back fill the speaker parts with cloth to keep it from rattling. I use my phone to play stuff through it, but that model radio has the option for a usb drive. With the usb I can load up all the music I want and don't have to worry about my phone.

I will try to get some pictures later. If you have any questions let me know.

why not just get the m12 or m18 Milwaukee radio - or any power tools co radio.. milwaukee makes 3 different ones now.. i have the m12 and its pretty nice. i bought that iinstead of the bigger one thats almost the same price just cause it WAS small.. it sits in the top of my HF 44" toolbox, and i bring it with me when i do snow removal in the winter to zip-tie into the front end loader.. used this pic so you can get a size reference.. its pretty loud to be honest, and doesnt take up alot of space..

I'm not sure, but the Milwaukee probably cost more than $20. And to me this setup looks cooler, like it's part of the box.

You can use an old car stereo for the FM part. Preferable one with no power amp built in, just RCA outputs. Then power it with either an SLA battery or a 12v wall wart transformer, or an old obsolete computer power supply(s) if you need more amps.

Class T amps are exactly what you want. Super efficient power consumption to output and amazing sound quality. But they aren't real powerful, so you'd also need a x-over and class D for a sub if you want to pump out some real sound.

Oh, and get a small commercial PA speaker. They maximize output vs a home speaker which gives up a lot of DBs in order to flatten response. You won't hear the difference in quality in a garage.

sorry, didnt realize there was a $20 limit on radios but $100 ratchets were ok [emoji38]_hitti
Lol there's no limit on it, I just don't figure the price if the Milwaukee radio would be worth it over this one. It's pretty good for the money and even smaller.

correct me if im wrong, but isnt that JUST an amp and not even the radio?? so youd still need the radio, AND the speakers also.. which is why i suggested the m12 radio, that you can pick up and take with you, doesn't have hanging wires, and even better if you already have some m12 stuff... even with the cheapest car receiver (radio only with aux input) being like $25, (if your not using a shelf radio which is even bigger) and speakers mabye another $20 (if you dont already have both) your getting close to the price of the m12, ( not considering you'd need another 12v power supply if you do the car radio) without all the fuss and wires.. but if its not what you want, its not what you want...

I get what you're saying, I just wanted it to be physically attached to the roll cart. I routed my wires through it and tied them up where they're hidden. I don't already own any Milwaukee cordless stuff either.
