Roll-up door opener info needed

I have a nice lightweight 10x10 roll up door on the new shop.
It is not bad to open by hand but, me need power!

So Could someone please give me some door lifts to look into?
I thought I had it when I bought a Liftmaster 3900. but the mechanics do not seem right for a rollup door.
Is there a kit that I can attach to the 3900 (gears and chain kit) that would work?
Or should I return the 3900 in favor of a "right on" ?

Is it a sectional, rolling steel, or sheet door?

It is not a sectional door. (Like a 4 or 5 panel bolted together)

I don't think it is sheet metal, seems more like a PVC sheet type of rolling up door. It does roll up on a drum and yep I have the "gap" at the top everyone hates. lol

a rolling steel has 2 or 3 inch slats, a rolling steel is one solid "wavy" piece and that sound like what you have. That opener should work just fine granted your door has correct tension. Here in texas over head door is a liftmaster provider and would stock the chain and sprocket kit to adapt to the sheet door. i would call them or whoever your local provider is with your sheet door brand, model, and serial number and they should be able to give you the sprocket kit you need.

I just don't know the brand or any info on the door. It was put in with the shop.
Guess I will do some looking tomorrow morning for any of that info.

Well bad news...
I have no name on the roll-up 10x10 door. standard wrap around barrel type.
It's made with light sheet metal.
LiftMaster 3900 will not work without some sort of gear (jackshaft) system. But cannot find someone to help find one.
So still looking for ideas....

go to the liftmaster website. they have what you need. your door probably has some bolt holes in the ends of the drum where you can bolt a sprocket to the drum. then you mount your opener on the wall and put the chain on and you're in business. I bought one for my door in 2010. it was expensive then. probably more now. 528.00. but it's been well worth it for me.

Well I found out that a LiftMaster 3950 is the bad boy I need!
A simple return of the LM3900 and hopefully I will be in business!

Call a local door co. In most cases they give free estimates and can tell you exactly what you have, and what you need. Then you can decide how to proceed from there.

If they tell you no free estimates, call someone else..Not the type of co you wanna do business with!
