Roller door security

Hello all!

I recently had a roller door fitted to my garage and I'm after some ideas to increase the security of the door. I was thinking about bolting some lock down points to the slab which would lock the bottom of the door down but thought there might be some nifty ideas on this forum

If you have any thoughts on better securing roller doors please share...

Thank you
Michael

Extra roller door security is always a PITA.

I'd suggest you put the lock down points on the outside of the door where they can be seen. Stops people kicking the snot out of the door, and then, finding out theres lock down points.

On the farm, I had gates mounted in front of the roller doors. That seemed to prevent unwanted visitors popping the doors out of the tracks with a vehicle, and going shopping, while I wasnt home.

Extra gates might be an issue at a house sized lot tho ??

Good idea re locks outside. Yeah gates wouldn't really work as I've got limited space for swing - plus the wife wouldn't like the look.

When I'm going to be away for a while I bolt a couple of pieces of uni-strut across the inside of the door from track to track, then I slip a sheet of ply in between the uni-strut and the inside of the door. Not real high security but it would slow somebody down.
