Anyone ever seen any info on Rollibot's RolliCool 10,000 btu Minisplit?
I found it lasted on Amazon (1 review), NewEgg, Wal-Mart online and eBay - each at $499.99.
Not sure if it does heat:
This sleek, compact AC features 115V and 10000 BTU to deliver the blast of chilly air needed to eliminate the heat in up to 450 sq ft of space. The RolliCool can reach a frosty 60°F and warm 87°F, so your home office, workshop, or start-up business will have the ideal temperature day in and day out!

That is interesting. But there is 0 information about how long the lineset is and where it plugs in.

They said it is portable and the connection can be removed and installed? I wouldn't do that a whole lot. Does that mean the line set is a braided rubber hose? How well does a flexible hose handle R410a pressures?

That Amazon page is the most content-free description that I've seen in a long time. It doesn't show or mention how the indoor and outdoor units connect. It doesn't even mention a SEER rating (probably because it isn't something they want to brag about). It doesn't seem to show where the cool air comes out (unless it's that small flap on top that's open in a couple of the pics?)

They really need to post a video of this thing being setup and provide quite a bit more detail about it.

Apparently those are made by Gree. M

My supplier sent me an email with this new product two weeks ago.... I'd be curious to check it out.

I just bought a Frigidare 15000 BTU window unit that I'm going to mont in the wall. Claims to cool 850 sq ft. IT IS HUGE. We will see. I just have an extended 2 car. 20x24. $399 at Lowes. Couldn't pass it up.

There was another company selling something like this a while back -- the head looked like a typical mini.

I believe it was a 9k unit --- it was 110v. The inside unit plugged into a standard wall outlet and powered the outside unit with a wire contained with the refrigerant lines. You had to feed the inside unit through a window and use the included window fitting. This contraption fit along the lower part of the window allowing the tubes to pass through -- the window closed down on top and was held with a bracket.

I have seen some in Asia with flex rubber lines.

The ad is sketchy. The concept has merit, though. Aeroquip used to make non-metallic linesets for standard split systems. They ALL eventually leaked. I can't count how many I replaced in the late 80's. They do still make non-metallic refrigerant line assemblies for vehicles. I have no experience with them.

There's a reputable company out there selling flexible mini split leads. Not sure what's in 'em as they're covered by stainless steel braids, but the reviews seem to be okay.

This actually seems like a good idea for people who can't use window units due to neighborhood rules (or customs). "Portable" a/c through the window usually stink and are terrible. I bought two a while back and despite being sealed systems, both leaked down to the point where they didn't work within a couple years.

finally got a link the a manual if you dig around on amazon comments.

It basically uses the similar latch connector as the other DIY mini split.

what it seems is the the EER is quite horrible. My portable 12,000 dual hose gets around 9.6, not good by means but that's what it is. This unit is 7.5 EER so it's sort of quite not efficient for a split system. They could have made it much better instead of having a cup size chute that blows air out.

I am guessing it is because the head unit is tiny and doesn't generate enough cool air.

The advertising / pictures were misleading and paired with the lack of specifications borderline criminal.

I bet so many of them got returned that Amazon decided to stop selling it.
