Rolling work bench/cart....

For the last 6 years I have had cabinets running the length of one wall(upper/lower) of my garage. I found myself using the cabinets as a place to pile and/or store and forget about stuff that didnt belong or was never used. I have since gotten rid of the cabinets and reclaimed my floor space.

Looking to buy or build a rolling cart/bench used to store tools(hand and small power) as well as have a top that is functional. Thinking maybe around 3' x 7' or something around there....

Anyone built their own? Pics?

Anyone buy something like this? I essentially cant find anything close because I am not spending $5k+ for a snapon cart that still doesnt fit my needs.

Thanks! :rocker:

Mine are about 24 x 40
The first was the 3 drawer end of one of those “battleship” desks on casters.
The second 2 are from repurposed frames from roll around book shelves.

I don’t do much metal work, so I watch auctions for sturdy bases that I can add casters to.
Key word is sturdy.
Industrial, medical, or government grade.
“Heavy Duty or “Commercial” just doesn’t do it.

Find the local auction house that does local government surplus.
With all the record keeping going to computers a lot of good cabinets and tables are available.

I use the top of my rolling table saw/ miter saw cabinet more often than I use both saws these days. Made of plywood and shopping cart wheels, it works great.
