Rong Fu Wrong Fu** How did this happen?

Ok, sometimes things come so far out of left field you dont even know how to cuss or swear at it!
I've got a Rong Fu something I got at an estate sale. Its better than nothing. Today I had a cutter in a collet and noticed that the draw bar felt a little strange. I pulled it out and checked the threads and they were fine.
I put the draw bar back in and was tightening it down when the wrench fell off the machine with the head of the draw bar stuck in it.
Hahaha what the heck!!

Any ideas on how to get this out?
Was thinking of drilling with left hand bits and seeing if I could get an easy out in tight enough and hopefully turn the easy out and back the draw bar out enough to get the collet out. E gads.

What taper? Do you usually have to give it a tap to release? Maybe get a punch and tap the top of the broken draw bar, it will release and drop down and you can unscrew it from the collet? Probably best to put some wood or rags or something under the collet.

I was so befuddled I didnt even think of that! Man I would have drilled it out and hammered the easy out into it only to have it fall on the table, bad show!

By the way, found a draw bar at Jet for $60, and one at Grizz for $25. Ordered the Griz

I'm pretty sure there's just a roll pin that connects the head to the draw bar - there's nothing wrong with yours. And it's easy to remove it from the quill.

I had one that did that 30 years ago. I used a brass drift to knock the drawbar and collet out, then put the hex head back on the drawbar and welded it where the bar sticks up flush with the top of the head. It has held fine ever since.
