My garage doesnt have any vents in the roof. I want to drywall and insulate the ceiling but am affraid that doing this without vents will create a heat issue. The garage is attached via one wall to the house and has vented soffit around the 3 sides. Can anyone help please.
Here is a link with pictures of my ongoing project.
Thanks
Ian

Is it the garage in your avatar? It sure looks like you have a little arched dormer vent in the front already... Maybe its fake though.

Anyways, its hard to tell from your pick but it appears you've got a hip roof. I wouldn't want a box vent on the front (or either side) of that hip that faces the street. It will stick out like a sore thumb. I typically hate the look of ridge vents but i think, its the best application here.

yes thats a fake dormer, also one on the right side. I didnt think about that, maybe I can cut through to them and vent

I could use some nice decorative venting that would look like it belongs :)

Go to Lowes and buy a couple of the powered ventilators. I think they are like 80 bucks a piece or so and they'll create a draw of outside air from your soffit vents up through the attic. I just replaced my turbine vents with the powered ones so I already know exactly where to place them. I can't help you with that part but I will tell you that mine are along the highest ridge line of my roof (which happens to be the center point of my attic) and mounted on the rear slope facing the back yard. They are about 4 feet apart.

Hope that helps a little.
