I am looking to shingle my addition. Small roofing projects I have always hammer nailed but this is 33 square on the addition section and 22 on the old section for a tear off and reshingle.

I have a little (long time ago) experience with the old battleship bostich rn45

Any thoughts about the newer bostich rn46?

How about the hitachi or max?

Also I always try to use maze nails and they offer hot dipped collated nails. Some reviews state they jamb in there gun (Milwaukee)

Anyone run hot dipped nails through the above mentioned guns?

I have the Milwaukee roofing nailer and have never had a jam once. I'm not sure if it is made anymore though. I would probably go with the Hitachi myself if I was buying new

If you really are going to buy one, look for a refurb unit. Save $$$ !

Bostich and Senco seem to be the most popular.

I see old Bostitch roofing guns at the flea market all the time for $50. For a one and done 50 square project that's the route I'd take. Resell when finished and probably won't be out anything. Worst case the gun needs a rebuild you can buy every o ring in the gun for less than $20. Bostitch guns like to blow trigger seals. So much so I keep a couple trigger kits on my truck. Change out in about 10 minutes using a nail for a punch and whatever is handy for a hammer. Bostitch roofing guns are bullet proof.
