Welcome!

The "usable" size of the space will depend of the pitch of the roof (due to ceiling height).

Usually you'll want to match the pitch of the roof on your house?

If you don't know.. post up a photo.

I'm in the process of having a 30x36 garage built. The attic trusses run the 30' span. I wanted an 8' ceiling on the second floor... The engineer built it as - 10/12 pitch, 8' ceiling, approximately 5' knee walls: The usable space between knee walls is roughly 16x36.
