Rotary lift questions

Anyone know of information about older Rotary Lift cylinders. Need to know the lifting capacity of the cylinders for the two part lifts. I have the one unit that slides and wonder if it has enough capacity to be used on its own as a hoist for cars. If not I would sell it and all attachments as parts. Does anyone know if the hoist in the "Restored 1930"s Auto Shop" site in this journal is home made or from the factory? Anyone know of a manufacturer of in floor hoists. Thanks

Gerry,

Our Rotary is an original from the factory (1928 vintage). It has been taken out of the ground and repaired because there was a leak at the bottom of the cylinder. Tom (BB767) should be able to answer questions for you if you PM him. I think he has the manual for it.
