Rotary lift SPOA9 100 series help

Anyone out there have the "100 series" SPOA9 or even SPOA7 lift? I bought one used and have it installed and working great. However the front arms when folded back toward the rear, do not fold back wide enough to get my full size truck between them. I called Rotary and they have no specs on the 100 series lifts. I took several measurements and pictures to insure that that I did install the posts correctly.

I'm hoping someone with this lift can get me a measurement between the front lift arms when fully swung inwards. As you can see I have very little room with the narrowest track width car I have.

Perhaps they should be swung forward instead of rearward. I have the SPOA10 and while i can swing the front arms rearward, they are not straight like your arms. They turn a bit near the pivot point. Mine look like they were designed to swing rearward.

The Rotary rep did say they are supposed to swing rearward as shown.

I would wonder if the posts should have been rotated, thus allowing arms to be parallel to vehicle. When I installed my Rotary A10IN, I had several choices on width and post rotation. My posts are mounted at a angle. Hope this helps.

Ok, so That is one thought that I had. Not saying I'm not wrong but the two things that had me rule that out is one: I measured the inner and outer most mounting holes across from each other as well as to the door before I removed the posts. Then matched those measurements with my install. and two: the top bar bracket is not adjustable, therefore not allowing it to rotate any more than it is. According to the top bar, I think I can widen it about 3", which I may have to end up doing. However I don't know if there will be enough cable length to do so.

What is limiting the rotation? In your top photo I can only see part of the gear mechanism that locks the arm when you raise lift. Is it hanging up or working correctly?

The side of the big locking pin that prevents arm rotation while the lift is in the air. When on the ground it pushes the lock up allowing them to rotate. This leads me to believe that nothing can really be done about it other than widening the lift. The other annoying thing about it is since the arms don't go parallel, it creates 2 tripping hazards.

HA! I just figured it out. The front arms were backwards left to right. It took me looking at my own pictures to realize it! Thanks for the support everyone! lol

I have a SPOA9 that I bought second hand. It was set up narrow and short. When I installed it my shop I set it up as tall and as wide as it would go. They use pipe spacers to shorten the cable all you have to do is remove them if you want to change your setup.
