Rotary or BendPak???

i would buy a rotary lifts, if you go to any shop and hear the bendpak lift goes up and a rotary lift goes up you will hear the different!

bendpak is a lot louder than a rotary!

and one more thing, all the big dealership in the usa 90% use rotary lifts in the service bays

Will..............well...which lift did you buy? I'm in Maryland and need a residential lift for my garage. I'm looking for a reliable dealer/installer to get a quality lift from at a reasonable price.

Hey guys. I been doing lots of research and I may have narrowed my search down. One thing I did determine from this research is a 10k is sufficient for my needs with room to grow. That in itself reduces costs. The other is as one recommended was to look at the Challenger lifts. I did and I can gravitated to the Challenger CL10 Versymmetric Two Post lift. This lift has much capabilities that can support not only my truck but also smaller cars since it is a asymmetrical and symmetrical lift in one. Challenger is a Gold certified made in America company as well.

As I drove around town I have seen the challenger lifts in a lot of shops which got me to thinking more about them. If any of you have experience with this model, let me know your thoughts. Costco and AAA close by me have them and I am going to swing buy to get a better look and ask some questions.

The installer who assembled my Bendpak raved about the CL10. Domestically made, solid as a rock and reliable was what he told me.

Just to follow up on this thread, I did decide to go with the Challenger Lift (CL-10V3) with two foot extensions. Great lift and happy with the decision. Thanks all for the comments as it all helped make the decision.

Make sure you get the 3 stage front arms. I sometimes have difficulty with the 2 stage arms on my Rotary.

I do have a Rotary bought used so I did not have a choice BUT a 3 stage arm would be nice

i got a bendpak two post, its an ok lift, except service from the factory *****, i been having to deal with local hydraulic service center instead, but if i had to do over, it be a four post, just where i don't have to get on my knees to place the arms.

What kinda Rotary lifts you all have? I have a Ford mechanic friend who's worked at Ford dealerships for years and bought a Rotary Revolution 3 years ago. He seems very happy with it and it looks a like a very well made lift. So what's wrong with Revolution?

I have 2 rotary spo12ta and a spoa10ra
Both are very nice, way better than a revolution, but also major $$$
For a home owner revolution is fine, but mine go up and down everyday, not like a home owner

If cost is not an issue i would look at a Mohawk. I own one I bought used and it is the jewel of my shop. Look at one and you will see what I mean. I was going to get a new BendPak but got the used Mohawk instead.

We put a rotary 2-post 7k lb lift in our old shop in 1994, and moved it to our new shop around ten years ago. We still use it every day, and some days it gets multiple vehicle put on it. I know we have had a leaking cylinder repaired at least once, maybe twice, but still that's 20 years of hard use and it's still works as good as the day we bought it. Can't complain about that.

what I did for my Rotory lift was to hook up and long 30 foot extension cord with a recessed momentary button so I can walk around the car and turn the lift on at any time while watching the arms make contact with the frame. never seen it done before.

My brother has a diesel repair shop and uses the very same lift to pickup 3/4 ton and 1 ton trucks each and every day. No worries at all with the Challenger lift.

Good choice on the Challenger CL10V3 That is one heavy duty piece of hardware.

I have a 9k Rotary from 2001 and a new 10k Bend Pak both asymmetrical's. The old Rotary has a smaller foot print, the arm locking mechanisms are superior on the rotary (at least mine), Pumps seem about the same.

I can't say on new Rotary. Mine was US made. My bend-Pak is Chinese of course, but it does have lower arms. Both lift and drop at the same rate. Putting sports cars on the old rotary is always a chore, the arms are designed for old cars and light trucks. The Bend Pak definitely has the ease of use for sporty type cars Although Rotary may have addressed this in later models.

As a side note. The Bend-Pak lock release was awful. I re-engineered it with a longer arm on the opposing column, now it works properly.

Doesn't say much when you have stands on both ends for additional support on an empty Pickup truck.....

Mine don’t require it when working within proper usage of rated lifts and lifting by proper pickup points. Only require safety stands when removing s key balance item from vehicle. IE. engine, dump box, wrecker body, front axle....
