I had a 3/8 Husky rotary ratchet that I rarely used, but does come in handy. I would say the battery ratchets kinda replaced these, but I feel when working with aluminum and plastic a manual ratchet is safer. Found these on Amazon Germany and took 4 weeks with the customs slowdown and now I think i want to get the matching 3/8.

I like that Proxxon has a 1/4 drive socket in the handle to attach an extension, nice touch. They feel like good quality ratchets and have some work coming up on snowmobiles where I think these will come in handy.

I have the Proxxon 3/8 ratchet. I bought it for obstructed access. In principle, it is super there. It seems well made and works. But all that being said, I only rarely reach for it (never in ordinary uses) and have my suspicions on how it would hold up in heavy use. Maybe that is just force of habit. But in a ratchet mode it has a fair amount of backdrag (not surprising since the internals must be complex) and rotating the handle is not very fast and does not give you a lot of torque. I agree that battery powered ratchets might do the same job as these and do it better.

I have an EzRed with the rotary action function. Got it with a bunch of SnapOn, Matco, and unknown generic ratchets at an estate auction.

The thing slips, and EzRed doesn’t have parts. They’re warranty is only for one year, from what I recall.

Funny story. I emailed them asking if they had a kit for it. Got a response saying they didn’t have a record of that model, but to call them if I had questions.

Called, and they verify they have no information, but then the rep says to hang on, & I hear her asking her boss about it. He says “ask Bob“ he’s been here forever. A minute or so later Bob picks up the phone and says yes, he remembers them from years ago, but no, parts are long gone.

I suppose someday I should take it apart for cleaning in an attempt to rejuvenate it.

Those were my go-to for a short while. It's annoying when the socket falls off the head from twisting the handle. I still use them but maybe only 15% of the time.
