I think I have narrowed my choices down to the spo10. I want a true symmetrical lift so I can place vehicles either direction on the lift. Will be using for 3/4 ton 4wd trucks to smaller jetta sized cars. The lift is available with different lift pads, any advice on choosing which way to buy it? I'm thinking the truck type adapters with spacers. Also is standard height enough? It is available with tower extensions but I'm thinking thats not necessary for pickups and cars.

Definitely get the flip up truck adapters. You will need these for trucks with running boards, as well as for some trucks where the frame angles up in the back behind the cab. When lifting a car, just take them off and use the standard metal pads. Standard height is fine. I've never needed any other setup besides this. I have a 30 year old Rotary 2 post like this and there hasn't been anything I couldn't lift. Good luck!

They make 3 inch(been awhile I think its 3 inch) longer pistons which I ordered for mine. Won't help on trucks but will on smaller cars. I have 3 stage arms plus extensions for lift pads. I lift my trucks with it no problem. Plus Rav4 and 67 Mustang

Why not get the truck adapters, with 9" extensions , and the round ones? They are trivially easy to swap out, and you have the right interface for anything you want to lift. I had this setup on my SL210 in our last house, and it lifted everything from an Excursion to a Testarossa. I'm doing the same thing in our new place.

That's what I was kind of thinking. Would need both types of rubber pads.
