What are peoples thoughts on the Rotary VLXS10 Vs. BendPak MD-6XP mid rise scissor lift. I do not have the ceiling height for a two post so I thought a mid rise would be my best option. I really like the Rotary lift since it is rated at 10,000 lbs compared to the 6,000 lbs on the BendPak. The Rotary is also ALI certified where the BendPak is not.

What I really like about the BendPak is that the lift arms pivot. I do not understand how you would lift some of the smaller SUV's with the Rotary lift. The platform length on the Rotary is only 51-1/4" long and the distance between the pinch welds on an Equinox is closer to 60" (I think they are 58").

Does Rotary sell adapters which can extend the platform? Or do these smaller SUV's just get lifted on the pinch welds which are not enforced. I would be using the lift for small SUV's, 1500 series trucks and the odd small car.

Any input would be a great help.

You are on the right track- the lift is worthless unless it fits the car! Which is why I chose the Bendpak, which I am very satisfied with, and use a lot. My 928 is on it right now, and the BP fits it almost perfectly. I eliminated several others because even though they looked very similar, when I examined dimensioned drawings from the manufacturers' websites, they were quite different in what they would accommodate in terms of lift points. The BP is very sturdy, and build quality is good. I have had a small hydraulic leak at the QD joint I installed (very cheap, just need to replace it with a good one), but that is the only problem. Good luck with choosing.

Agree, it doesn't sound like the Rotary fits your needs. I just bought a mid-rise and ended up going with the Atlas Kwik Bay over that BendPak and other similar lifts. For me, the BendPak would not reach all the lift points on my my wife's Highlander, and I also liked the 13 lock points on the Atlas. The Atlas would also problably fit your needs, but you'd need the extra support bars for your trucks more that likely. You probably can't go wrong with either one based on the feedback from previous posts on this site.
