Hey guys, stuck between a Rotary SPO12 vs Bendpak XPR12CL.

Leaning towards the Rotary, but some of these advertisement pictures of the BP's make it look a lot beefier.

Does anyone have any first hand experience in the past year between both of these? Seems like the Rotary is more compact which is nice. I'll be lifting 3500-5500 diesels down to 2 seat sand rails. Maybe even backing a boat trailer sometimes in there. It seems that the Rotary arms a little more flexy than the BP's from some posted pictures, can anyone confirm that?

Thank you in advance!

rotary no questions about it, and im a bendpak owner

hah, sounds pretty black and white.

I guess what i'm on the fence about with the 12k lifts specifically is it seems like the Rotary SPO12 is a beefed up SPO10, where as the Bendpak XPR12CL "seems" to be constructed of larger steel members and appears to share the same dimensions as the XPR15 and XPR18.

Be sure that it's ALI rated.
I have BendPak 10K unit and it's been great so far!

i would still go with rotary. i would go with a used rotary over a brand new bendpak. I would go with a smaller rotary over a bigger bendpak

I've got a SPO12 that I use daily here at the shop that I use for everything from a miata to a f350 dually & I haven't regretted it for a moment.

With all the stuff going on in the world, is there really any question which lift to buy?

Well of course there is! This subject gets brought up tree times a week at least... And it's the same old argument over and over again...

Just like the old Ford vs Chevy or Milwaukee vs Dewalt arguments that come up every two days.

Nobody has facts but everyone has an opinion.

Then they throw the China card, which is totally irrelevant.

While not in the weight class you are looking, I have a 10k Bendpak and I’m not thrilled with it. To me it’s kind of shaky/flimsy. I have other lifts to compare it to. My 9k Ben Pearson is my favorite one. Very rigid and solid feeling. I also have a Mohawk A7 that other than being a little narrow between the posts contains enough steel to make two and a half of most modern day lifts. If I ever get another lift it won’t be a Bendpak.

I have a Forward (Rotary DSG) I-12pro and I use it for my dually trucks. It's a 12k and ALI certified. I have been very happy with it so far

i got a bendpak xl-9 bought brand new in 2005. I have replace the motor, the hoses, the micro switch twice, and Im on my third clyinder ram, and Im just a week ene warrior. Its not used everyday

so quality -no
service from bendpak, non exssitance , there service *****

bendpak is a china lift with a very good PR stunt, they loaded all these car shows with sponsorships. they are an ok lift

the lift its self , column, arms, are great. the motor and cheap china rams *****

i think im going swap the rams out for an american rebuildable ram

when a new ram cost $299 that should tell you how cheap they are made
bend pak rams are not rebuiltable, at least that what bendpak told me, nether are their pumps and motors

rotary vs bendpak is lke an harley davidson vs a honda 350
