Rotating stand for multiple grinders?

I feel like there was a stand I saw that was made out of a heavy truck rear end and it rotated, anyone remember that? Am I just crazy? Maybe it was a vise stand?

Anyways, I would like to make a really rugged stand that rotates, what I really want is to have the center also be dust collection, crazy idea, right?

I had plans of building one using a pickup truck hub to rotate it on.
Dust collection , slots through plate with sheet metal ducts to buckets under neath

I am thinking bigger, I have a Rockwell rear end from a large truck, I may be able to incorporate the differential for weight and use it as a way to rotate the grinders. I was even trying to figure out how I could use the air parking brake to keep it from rotating when you are working.

Big truck reared would be cool if you could cut the pot in half to stand on end as a base.
I have a 5 speed transmission(the spare I'll never need) standing on end that looks like it would make a good stand. Its very stable with the bell housing as a base.

I have a couple more projects going on, but this may be one of my next ones. The transmission idea is pretty cool as well. I need to start drawing things up, get the ideas flowing.

The 5 speed transmission is a cool idea. Turn the input with an electric motor and you could change gears to set your rotating speed. hmm...

Here is one I bought and then modded by cutting the axel off and welding a pipe in it's place and then dropping the top with the axel into the pipe so it rotated. I've also added the receiver tubes at 90' so there are 4 of them. I also have it on a barrel dolly that fits the base well.

I made a rotating mount for my grinders. I cut a 24" circle of 1/4" steel plate, center piece of conduit with 4 outlet box, mounted 4 grinders on it and then use stem mount transfer rollers to support the whole thing on a workbench. I have a stop so it won't rotate more than 350 degrees and a toggle clamp to stop it rotating when I use it. Sorry no pictures but it works good.

I am oftern curious about others who do similar work and the slight difference in tools. I have one small bench grinder with a stone on one side and a wire wheel on the other. I really rarely use it, actually have a 1 hp Baldor in storage I havnt bothered to hook up. I wonder what all this is used for? About everything cept wire wheel a few bolts is done hand held tool. Mostly 4 1/2 electric and specialty stuff is air powered.
