Call me crazy, but I'd NEVER leave Hawk Blues on my car for the street. Fine at the track, but they come off for the street. The dust, when coupled with rain, will trash a lot of stuff in very little time (good way to create lots of rust on suspension parts and fasteners). Haven't tried the DTC-60 but I'd expect the same.
you are right, blues are not something i would generally run everyday street use. i should have been more clear. If the car is a street legal dedicated track car that is not driven much on the street then pads stay loaded all the time. if it is a car that commute m-f and weekend warrior, id swap pads out at some point be it at the track or even at home in comforts of garage. unless the commute was close. then i'd likely be lazy and leave them in, lol. really the squeal is the only thing i have seen that is detrimental for daily use. not so much b/c it squeals. But because everyone and their mother has to point out to you that your brakes squeal.
aside from the paint issue, never had problems w/ the dust causing stuff to rust. the dust itself is what rusts due to the metal flake in it. if it is hot, it bakes into the paint. the powdercoat surfaces of suspension or raw aluminum seem to hold up to it. between personal cars and customer cars, i have a lot of makes and models running those pads. cant say i have run into any issues.
