my shop has a rough broom finish slab. we sealed it with a jasco (i think) concrete sealer to keep the dust down, which works great, but after seeing some of your epoxy coated floors i think i need to do that instead. so, will the epoxy smooth out the rough finish? do i need to somehow remove the sealer?

The brush marks will remain unless you (1) grind down the brush marks or (2) use a self leveling epoxy, enough to cover the marks.

Since you already have a sealer on it, you'll need to grind this away prior to epoxying, so I would rent a grinder and see if you can grind down the brush marks.
