Looking to recreate this slip fit tubing in the attached picture, wondering what others have used to get a nice fit.

I can tell you what WON'T work; ANY "normal" pipe choices (at least that'd come close to your pic sizes) - probably hafta check the online metals sites under DOM tube... Steve

What size are you looking for? If it doesn't have to be bulletproof, A piece of 2" exhaust tubing is 2" OD. a piece of 2" STD pipe (sch40) is 2" ID and 2-3/8" OD.

Or look up pipe dimension charts. You can find pipe that will fit loosely, but you might have to use a heavier wall on the outer pipe.

If you only have access to pipe(and not tube) a piece of 1-1/2" sch 80 will fit loosely over 1" pipe

I think you guys are confirming what I thought to get the tight fit that allows the outer to spin around the inner with out a lot of slop ill need to have something milled out. My initial hope was there was something in 2" to 3" OD world combination of pipe and tube that was lucky enough to fit like I wanted.

.025" slop between 3" sch. 80 ID and 2.5" OD (ANY sch.), 'bout the best short of DOM (maybe) or machine work... Steve

DOM tubing is spec’s at OD dimensions so you could get just about any combo tonwoke like this:

2.5” x .188 wall has an ID of 2.125”
2” x any wall thickness is…2” OD
1/8” slop between the two.

that might feel sloppy if the outer piece is only a few inches long but will feel less sloppy as it gets longer. 6-8” I’m guess would be good.
