Rover 25 Expansion tank bust.

Detected a leak from under bonnet of 2003 Rover 25 diesel and found the exit pipe on the expansion tank had fractured
A replacement tank was 4 days away and locally it was Main Dealer only for around £6 (Yeah right) so £5 spent at local plumbers merchant, blank off old hole and make new one, connect up and problem solved but THEN read that the new OAT AntiFreeze corrodes Brass & Copper.
Is that true??

I am up & running for now but will order a 3rd part tank if I am likely to have probs but not unless as I am quite proud of my bodge.

Should alwas use pvc for pressure.

Don't know if antifreeze corrodes copper, probably wise to keep an eye on it.

It's been a while since I saw a functioning Rover 25 not a whole lot of the last generation Rovers left now.

I’m just amazed that anyone still has a Rover 25! A mate had a diesel one that was surprisingly quick and amazing on fuel

A big no for PVC for pressure. Copper is much better...............
