Looking for a good 100 ft rubber garden hose. Locally have the Craftsman available for $60. Any other brand worth considering before I buy?

The Craftsman 5/8 x 25' hose is on sale for $12. I'd think about connecting four of them together.

Some of my Craftsman hoses are over 25 years old. For winter, I just disconnect them from the faucet and let them freeze solid, in place.
The damn scheisters Sears bumped price already on 25' hose to $20 so that super deal is gone.
I've put the longer 50 ft and 75 ft Craftsman in my cart all the time (ie ready to buy) so hopefully I'm ready for these very tight window deals on Sears hoses. So far I've missed 3 sales !!!
Really is Snooze You Lose on those darn deals at Sears.

In the past, I would disconnect the splitters from the spigots, drag an air hose over to the splitter, and blow air through each garden hose.
This year, to save time, I pulled the garden hose closer to the air, opened the valves on the splitter, but shut the spigot valve, blew air in one hose, and out the others.
Yeah, the hose will take freezing just fine, but not anything attached to it.
As for the Craftsman hoses, they're not what they used to be. The ones you have probably still have stainless steel ends. That's been gone for a long time now. Most of the "brass" accessories in HD are now aluminum that's been anodized to a brass color.

You want to adjoin it to itself so bugs, dirt, debris and such wont make it into your hose.

Sam's Club used to sell a pretty nice rubber hose 100'+ in length. I'm not sure if it was 3/4", probably 5/8", but has held up to residential use very well for me and I haven't really tried to take care of it.

I wanted the best garden hose money can buy so I went down to the industrial rubber supply store and bought a Thermoid black rubber hose 3/4 x 50. It's not really a garden hose, but it has garden hose fittings on it. Built like a tank and very heavy. The next one I buy will probably be the 5/8 because the 3/4 is a work out moving around the yard.

I have the rubber Craftsman hose my father bought in 1980. It has had one end replaced after it was run over by a truck about 25 years ago. Beyond that, it's just worked and done the job. Fantastic.
I bought another rubber hose in the last year for the front of the house from Ace and it has so far done pretty good. I don't know if it will last 35 years like the Craftsmen. I'll let you know in another 34 years.

wait till the 50-100' black rubber lifetime warranty cman hoses go on on sale for $25-30 ea. everyone says last hose you will ever buy.

Craftsman garden hoses are top notch. Just hold tight for their sales. Summer is coming, I'm sure they will discount them once the grass starts growing again.

I have a bunch of Craftsman rubber hoses. I leave them out all year long. I drain them and coil them up and they hang from a rototiller in the back yard. They are the best hoses I have ever owned. They don't hold up well if you mow them over or drive over them .

We have had a never kink hose for a long time that works well. Pretty sure it is made by Apex, and in the USA.

I have had the goodyear black rubber ones sold at HD for about a decade of abuse. Still good as new left out all year round..frozen solid....baked in sun..run over and so on.

I love my C-Man rubber hoses so much I use them for air lines for my home snowmaking setups! I have adapters on them so all my lines use a 1" cam lock fitting as the standard for my system from the hardlines to the hoses.

Home snowmaking setup. Thats a new one for me. Must be real expensive.
Anyway, my 100ft hose i got from Costco, i forget the brand, but it works real well. It has raises on the interior walls, so even if the hose is pinched, it still flows. IIRC it was made in USA and $20.

I have had my craftsman hoses for over 15yrs. I had one female end get messed up on me, I cut it off and went to sears to purchase a new end, Was telling the cashier about needing a new end, He advised me no, They replaced the 50 foot hose with just the female end. He told me that that is all they wanted back was the female end. I then took the damaged hose down to my local ace hardware, they have a machine that will put a factory crimped end on garden hoses, cost me 5.00 for a new factory type end.

If you have a place that makes hydraulic hoses I would ask if they make garden hoses bc I have one that's a 100ft they made for me for 65.00 I love it

I also got a guy blue big Sears premium in 1980, still looks great.
25 years ago, I worked at a True Value. We had the machine that installed factory garden hose ends. We sold auto heater hose but the foot. We had a guy come in, buy and entire box and put hose ends on it. He swore by it.

Been happy with Flexzilla garden hose. Soft enough to coil easily.
I'd say disintegrate, yes, just like the coolant hoses in your car
