I have 15+ grey storage bins that we used for moving, available to use for storage in the garage. All the bins will be labelled with Christmas, Halloween, Camping, etc., etc.

I am wondering if anyone has any ideas or pictures of storage shelving in your garage using big Rubbermaid-style storage bins. I was thinking a long shelf down one side of my 24x24 just under roof level but with 8' ceilings, this might not be ideal.

Thanks everyone!

I don't have a picture - but I've seen this done by building two vertical panels (like a closet) slightly wider than the width of the storage bin. You then screw/nail/glue horizontal strips of wood to the sides of these panels. You then load the bins into the closet by sliding their wide upper ring on the slats you put on the panels.

It works sort-a like what you see on this webpage but in a vertical closet fashion:

Search the Family Handyman site. They've done a few projects using these bins.

I use Edsal 72"x24" adjustable metal shelving to hold my totes. It works great. I can post pics tonight if you wish.
