Rules:
- We are all here to help eachother. If someone asks for help, don't go calling them stupid. Also don't go knocking other people for what they have or want in their garage. Basically if you don't have anything nice to say don't say it.

- Take your drama somewhere else. No one wants to read whiney bickering between two internet thugs.

- Advertising: I don't offer paid advertising, but I will allow a vendor or manufacturer ONE post to say what they need to, show a product or whatever. Post it in the right section and don't go making multiple threads on it or I will delete all of them.

TIPS:
- Change the color style: Click the drop down menu in the bottom left.

- View unread posts: Click the "link area" button in the top right and choose "new posts."

- Sending pm's: when it asks you if you want a confirmation receipt, if you hit cancel it does not cancel the pm, just the return receipt.

- Attachments: The size limit is 200k. The easiest way to resize a picture is to open it in microsoft paint, and then "save as" to as new file name. This will usually cut the file size of jpegs in half.

- Custom user title: Go to Profile -> Edit Profile -> Enter in your custom user title and then save the changes.

- Posting Pics in Order: Basically to get them in the order you want they have to be uploaded one at a time. You can still do multiple pics in a single post, just upload them individually. If multiple pictures are uploaded at once the smaller ones in file size will be first and the larger ones last.

If you need help with anything feel free to ask.

Please Attach Your Images!

Going back through old posts I am seeing more and more bad links or hosts that have taken down pictures. It would be really beneficial to everyone down the line if you guys could start attaching your images instead of linking to them. There are some wonderful pictures on here that I would hate to see lost.

By attaching the pics they are uploaded to the website server and will be here indefinitely.

Resizing Pictures:

- Right click on the image. Click "Send To" and then "Mail Recipient."
- A box will pop up and make sure "Make all my pictures smaller" is checked and then hit "OK"
- A blank email will pop up with the picture as an attachment. Just drag the picture out of the email onto your desktop and you now have a resized picture.

Thanks guys.

bmwpower, interesting, I PM'd Luke 3/28 with a question and didn't receive a reply - maybe because Luke isn't here anymore??

Are there any moderators of the forum? TIA

I've tried to PM him, too, no reply.

As for Mods, "Ryan" now owns the board. Not sure if there are other Mods or not. I believe there are, but couldn't tell you their names...:headscrat

Best way to POST pictures...

THERE is a real easy way to post up pictures. Log onto http://www.photobucket.com
It's free. You simply upload all the pictures you want, once they are there you can easily edit them, to make them small enough to post on message boards or for a variety of uses. You simply copy the embedding code shown right under the picture you select, then copy and paste right here in the message box you are typing in.

Here is an example:

Greetings Admin

For some reason I am being denied the right to post. I read over your rules and may have missed something, but maybe someone could explain why I am locked out. Is it something I said?

thanks

How to resize photo for easy posting

No need to download special software to shrink high resolution photos because there is a function within Windows that does this. It’s called Microsoft Paint which is usually found under start/programs/accessories.

Alternatively, if you haven’t changed the default picture viewer images should automatically open in Windows Picture and Fax viewer. On the lower right next to the help button is an icon that “close this program and open the image for editing” or simple press Ctrl & E simultaneously.

It really doesn’t matter how you get the image opened up in Microsoft Paint. Once you are there look for the Image menu. Under Image there is a function called “Stretch/Skew”. From there enter in ‘stretch’ values less than 100% and you will be shrinking the image. I typical use 35% and have a 8 mega pixel camera. The images usually shrink from roughly 1.5 M to about 150K.

Another thought would be to get a Mac...

I know this an old post, but there is a utility on the web called Windows Power Tools Image resizer, that once installed, allows pic resizing with a right button mouse click. Dirt simple to use.
