Running 100amp Service to Detached Shop

Like the title says I'm running service to my shop from my existing 200amp panel in my house. I'll be running 4 #3 wires (copper) in conduit all the way and it will be buried. Two questions:

1. The conduit with the new wire will cross over the existing direct burial wire that feeds my main 200amp service. Is it ok that they will be close to one another (not touching though obviously)?

2. For conduit size, is 1.5" sufficient or should I run 2"?

Thanks,
Matt

You don't need four #3's, you only need three, with a #8 green.

Should be fine. God help you though if you hit the power co. wires.....

2. For conduit size, is 1.5" sufficient or should I run 2"?

It'd fit in an 1.25" easily, if you want to go larger you certainly can.
