Probably been asked to death, but I cant find it. How do your run a copper line from gas logs? The line will run down through the floor into the crawl space, but is ok to run the line from the crawl space thru the concrete blocks, and then into the ground. Can you use PVC to shield the line where it comes out of the block into the ground?? Thanks!

Mine was run all around the perimeter of house with buried polyethylene yellow plastic pipe with the risers (converts plastic to steel above ground). This is house I bought and it was already done. Looks like utility company did job as excellent work and has shutoffs on both ends that are lockable just like main Natural Gas line going into meter.

The buried run just T's off after meter before main NG supply line goes into the house (all above grade which is required).

Conversely on episode of This Old House, they used exterior mounted black pipe steel with the squeeze fittings to run from meter over to a BBQ grill.

Lots of options depending on layout of your house/yard and access/distance to the fireplace. If you have wide-open access in crawl space, then you'll have to follow code for that install, which may require you to go different route if inspector is worried about a leak. YMMV.

Also make sure you consider line sizing depending on BTU of your fireplace. It will depend on your pressure of course.
